Four arrested after search of home in Eastern Passage

Police say they located a .32 Smith & Wesson handgun and a Savage .300 Winchester Magnum rifle, along with ammunition

Halifax District RCMP have arrested four people after firearms were found in the search of an Eastern Passage home Sunday afternoon.

Police say they located a .32 Smith & Wesson handgun and a Savage .300 Winchester Magnum rifle, along with ammunition.

They've charged Victor Brandon Westlake, 27, Marlon Ryan Westlake, 18, Rubina Westlake, 58, and Adrian Paul Westlake, 54, with careless storage of a firearm, unsafe storage contrary to regulations, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a prohibited device, possession of a firearm knowing it's unauthorized, possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition and possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition.

In addition, Victor Brandon Westlake has been charged with possession of weapons contrary to a prohibition order and failing to comply with a probation order.

All four appeared in Dartmouth Provincial Court Monday, Victor Brandon Westlake was remanded in to custody until his next court date Thursday, the other three have been released from custody and are scheduled back in court in November.

Police are asking anyone with information about this incident to call them at 902-490-5020, or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
