By Dan Ahlstrand

The upward trend in the price for gasoline is expected to continue in Nova Scotia this week.

Managing partner and market analyst with Price Street Rory Johnston is looking for prices to rise by about three cents per litre, coming very close to the $1.60 plateau.

Johnston said the situation in Ukraine is having a big impact on the price for oil.

“Oil prices are really at their highest level since 2014,” Johnston said. “The dated Brent benchmark hit above $100 a barrel last week for the first time since 2014.”

Across the border in New Brunswick, that province's regulator moving the maximum price for self serve regular down by 1.4 cents to 158.9.
