Gas prices go up higher than expected across Nova Scotia

A larger than anticipated increase in the price for gasoline.

Regulated prices climbed by 4.6 cents at midnight, moving the minimum price up to 111.4.

Better news for those needing diesel. Fuel prices rose by just 1.4 cents to 107.8.

One year ago drivers were paying 1.08 for gasoline, 1.05 for diesel. oil was trading at $49.64 us per barrel, just under $3 less than Thursday's closing price of $52.61.
