Girl grabbed from behind and pulled down walking path in Cole Harbour

By Meghan Groff

Police are looking for a suspect after a girl was grabbed in Cole Harbour.

Halifax District RCMP say the 13-year-old was walking south on John Stewart Drive at around 7:30 p.m. Thursday when a man grabbed her from behind and pulled her by the arm.

They say the suspect pulled her a short distance down a walking path before she was able to get away. She wasn't hurt.

The suspect is described as white, in his early 20s and around 5'10″ with a lean build. His dark hair is shaved on both sides with a brush cut on top. He was wearing black sneakers, blue jeans and a teal-coloured, three-button T-shirt.

Mounties would like to speak with anyone who may have been in the area when the incident occurred, including a woman who was walking her German Shepherd on a red leash.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Halifax District RCMP at 902-490-5020 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
