Halifax Common Pool to stay closed this summer

The Halifax Regional Municipality would like to advise residents of the following update on municipal aquatics:

The Halifax Common Pool

The Halifax Common Pool will remain closed for the rest of the summer due to ongoing repair work.

In light of the Halifax Common Pool being closed, the following aquatic opportunities will be offered:

Free swims will be available at Needham Pool at the following times:  

  • Monday through Friday from July 26 until September 3: 2 p.m. – 3 p.m., 3 p.m. – 4 p.m., and 5 p.m. –  6 p.m.
  • Sunday: 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. – 3 p.m.

Residents must register in advance over the phone at 902-490-4633 or online at halifax.ca/myREC.

In partnership with the YMCA, Greater Halifax (5640 Sackville Street), free swims will also available at the following times:

  • Monday, August 2: 12:30 p.m. – 2 p.m.
  • Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from August 4 until September: 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Centennial Pool

Work on the Centennial Pool is ongoing. The pool is expected to reopen in September.
