IWK to launch search for new chief financial officer next month

By Chris Halef

The IWK Health Centre will start looking for a new chief financial officer in the new year.

This comes months after former CFO Stephen D'Arcy resigned in September, which was shortly after former CEO Tracy Kitch stepped down amid an expenses controversy.

Spokesperson Nick Cox said in an email, they'll begin their search for D'Arcy's replacement in January.

“It is our hope to have a individual in place within three to six months,” he said.

Cox added once they have a new CFO in place, they will start looking for a new CEO to replace Kitch.

Kitch resigned in August after an independent review said she owed $47,000 in potentially personal expenses that were said to be charged to her corporate credit card.

She was also recently removed from the Women's Executive Network's Top 100 list of most powerful women in Canada following public outcry.

The IWK's CFO position is currently being filled on an temporary basis by an individual from another organization on a six month term.
