A local NHL superstar will have his day with the Stanley Cup this weekend.

Nathan MacKinnon's parade will happen on Saturday in downtown Halifax.

The Colorado Avalanche star is celebrating his first NHL championship.

The parade will begin at noon Saturday on Albermarle St. It will wind through downtown, including South Park St. and Spring Garden Rd., wrapping up at Grande Parade.

Municipal officials are asking drivers to prepare for delays in the downtown area on Saturday.

The weather looks like it's going to cooperate. The forecast shows sunny skies and a 28 degree high.
