Man assaulted in Cowie Hill after answering knock on his door

A 71-year-old man says he was assaulted after two men forced their way into his Cowie Hill residence.

The man heard a knock on his Abbey Road door at around 9 p.m. on Sunday. 

He told police when he answered it, two men assaulted him before stealing money, a leather jacket, and a safe containing personal items. The pair ran out the back of the residence.

Both suspects are described as white and in their mid-to-late 20s. 

One is around 5'5″ with a stocky build, blue eyes, straight reddish-brown hair and possibly some facial hair. He was wearing a three-quarter length light coloured puffy jacket with fur trim around the hood, brown cotton gloves, a black toque and had half his face covered with a black scarf.

The other is around 6 feet tall with a medium build and dark hair. He was wearing a black hooded sweater with the hood pulled up over a dark baseball cap, black gloves, light blue jeans, a dark coloured toque, brown work style boots and his face was covered with a scarf.
