Man in hospital with life-threatening injuries after shooting in Halifax

By Mark Hodgins

Halifax Regional Police are investigating a shooting in the city's north end that happened late Wednesday night.

Officers were called to the area of Connaught Ave. and Windsor St. to reports of gunshots just after 10 p.m.

Police say the officers found evidence a shooting had taken place.

About 30 minutes later, staff at the QE II told police a man had arrived with possible gunshot wounds. His injuries, police say, are life-threatening.

A stretch of Connaught Ave. was closed for about four hours into Thursday morning, re-opening around 2:30 a.m.

HRP says the investigation is in its early stages. Anyone with information is asked to reach out to police directly, or to leave an anonymous tip with Crimestoppers.
