Monday’s high sets new temperature record at the airport

By Mark Hodgins

It's a hot start to the week in Halifax.

While it might not be the sweltering temperatures being felt in Western Canada, Monday's high was good for a new record at Halifax Stanfield International Airport.

The temperature hit 32.2 degrees at Stanfield on Monday, bringing down the previous high for Jun. 28 of 30.6 degrees set back in 1991.

Heat warnings were expanded to include parts of northern Nova Scotia on Tuesday morning with the heat expected to last until Wednesday.
