By Chris Halef

HALIFAX – Filip Zadina scored twice as the Halifax Mooseheads dominated the number one ranked Moncton Wildcats 5-1 at the Scotiabank Centre Tuesday night.

Moncton drew first blood in the first period with Zadina responding minutes later to tie things up at 1-1 after 20 minutes.

The second period was all Halifax, as Maxime Fortier, Zadina and Connor Moynihan all scored in the bottom half of the period to give the Herd a 4-1 lead heading into the third.

It didn't stop there, as Raphael Lavoie sniped one between the pipes to give Halifax the 5-1 victory over the top team in the QMJHL.

On Friday, the Herd heads over to Quebec to take on the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada.
