Mooseheads lose to Wildcats on late goal

By Mark Hodgins

The Halifax Mooseheads lost a tight Friday night affair against the Moncton Wildcats on a late game-winning goal.

The Wildcats held the lead three times during the game, with the Mooseheads able to fight back to tie the game twice.

Bobby Orr and James Swan potted goals for the Herd.

But in the waning moments of the third, Francesco Iasenza would put away the game-winner with a nifty redirect in front of the Mooseheads net. That goal coming with just 1:59 left in the final frame.

The Mooseheads pushed with the goalie out but weren't able to force overtime.

Halifax will be back in action on Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m., paying a visit to Saint John. You can hear that game live on CityNews 95.7.
