Mounties investigate break and enters at seasonal cottages

By Meghan Groff

Halifax District RCMP say the cottages and sheds and two seasonal properties have been broken into.

The break and enters happened sometime either Monday or Tuesday on Highway 224 in Marinette, between Sheet Harbour and Upper Musquodoboit.

“Cottage and camp owners are encouraged to put up a trail camera on your property,” said Cpl. Dal Hutchinson in a news release. “This will assist police with identifying suspects if your cottage or camp is targeted by thieves.”

Last year, Mounties received over 300 reports of break-ins at seasonal properties.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheet Harbour Detachment at 902-885-2510 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
