Nor’easter takes aim at Nova Scotia with snow, wind and rain in the forecast

Another shot of winter in store for Halifax as a nor'easter bears down on the Maritimes. 

Environment Canada issuing a special weather statement for the area, warning of 5 to 10 cm of snow. The forecaster says up to 15 cm is possible for Halifax, Lunenburg and Annapolis Valley. 

NEWS 95.7 weather specialist John Wilson says it will all depend on how warm it gets. 

“The faster the temperature goes up the less snow we get and the more rain we get,” said Wilson. “The main thing from the system is the wind, 60 or 70 km/h from the east.”

The rain is expected to continue throughout the day once the changeover occurs. 

The storm making its way north after hammering the U.S. Northeast with snow and wind. New Brunswick will take the brunt of the snow, with snowfall warnings in effect for some areas.
