Nova Scotia closing all visitor information centres

By CityNews Halifax Staff

Due to concerns around COVID-19, all visitor information centres will be closed effective Tuesday, March 17.

There are only a few centres open year-round, including one in Amherst near the New Brunswick border and one at Halifax Stanfield International Airport.

Tourism Nova Scotia staff will work from home as well, and the measures will remain in place until further notice.

The tourism contact centre, which handles calls from travellers seeking trip planning information, will also be closed until further notice.   Anyone who calls the 1-800 line or stops at a visitor information centre will be directed to the government of Nova Scotia's website for detailed information on COVID-19.
