Nova Scotia Health reports 20 deaths in its latest COVID-19 update

In its weekly COVID-19 update, Nova Scotia Health is reporting 20 new deaths related to the virus.

Due to the holidays, the weekly update covers a two-week period between Dec. 20 and Jan. 2nd.

According to the health authority, 19 of those deaths are from previous reporting periods.

The province also reporting 1,553 new PCR-confirmed cases, that's up from 584 cases two weeks previous.

They say 34 people remain in hospital as of Jan. 5.

That is an increase from 25 patients in Nova Scotia Health’s last update.
