Nova Scotia Power says all customers have been reconnected

By Katie Hartai

Nova Scotia Power says it has restored power for all of its customers who lost it during the weather bomb that hit the province Thursday and Friday.

The utility says it and contractor crews completed restoring power to the last of the 280,000 customers affected by the storm shortly after 9 p.m. Saturday night.

“We thank our customers for their patience,” says Nova Scotia Power's storm lead Stephen Pothier in a release. “And we are immensely grateful for the almost 500 power line technicians who have traveled from New Brunswick, Quebec and Ontario to help restore power to our customers after this week's powerful storm.”

Nova Scotia Power says it de-activated its Emergency Operations Centre at 9:21 p.m. Saturday after opening it January 3 to coordinate storm response.
