HRP say the responded to the accident at 7 p.m.

They say a male pedestrian was crossing at Mumford Road and Leppert Street at a marked crosswalk.

Although the crosswalk was equipped with flashing amber lighting, police say the pedestrian didn't activate the lights before stepping into the street.

They add it has been confirmed the lights were in working order at the time of the accident.

The pedestrian was taken to the QEII for medical treatment for non-life threatening injuries and police say a ticket was issued to the pedestrian under section 125(4) of the Motor Vehicle Act.
