Shannon Arnold, the marine policy coordinator with the Halifax-based Ecology Action Centre, discusses an ongoing ban on landing endangered shortfin mako sharks is likely to mean a majority survive accidental capture in the Canadian longline fishery, according to a federal assessment. Todd has his weekly chat with Tim Powers, Summa Strategies, Abacus Data. Rick Perkins, M.P. for South-Shore St. Margaret’s and Shadow Minister for Fisheries and the Coast Guard, calls on the federal government to lower fuel taxes for fishers.
