Police arrest suspect after bomb threat at bank (update)

Halifax Regional Police have arrested a man after a bank received a bomb threat Thursday morning.

Officers were notified at 10:23 a.m. after a threatening phone call from an anonymous person was received at the RBC Royal Bank at 5855 Spring Garden Road.

The bank had to be been evacuated as a precaution while police searched the area, however investigators found nothing suspicious.

Police used video surveillance to identify a suspect and arrested a 38-year-old Cole Harbour man leaving a building on Gottingen Street at around 1:30 p.m.

He's been taken to police headquarters for questioning.
