Halifax District RCMP are looking for two men they believe are connected to the midday theft of almost $2,000 from a Lower Sackville Canadian Tire.

They say around noon Sunday, the men drove a black Dodge Caravan to the side of the store at 796 Sackville Drive, where it appears they cut through a fence.

A few minutes later, the van pulled away and parked in the front parking lot.

Mounties say the pair filled multiple shopping cars with expensive merchandise, including two Husqvarna chainsaws, a KitchenAid Stand Mixer, a Minn Kota trolling boat motor and a Shakespeare glider trolling boat motor.

Police believe the men wheeled the carts into the outside garden centre, drove their van back to the side of the building, then picked up the items through the fence opening before driving off.

Both men are described as white, clean-shaven and in their 40s.

The first suspect was wearing a grey hoodie with the Caterpillar 'CAT" logo on it, black track pants, white sneakers and a black ball cap with sunglasses on the brim.

The second was wearing a green jacket, blue jeans, white sneakers and a black hat.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Halifax District RCMP or Halifax Regional Police at 902-490-5020. Anonymous tips can be submitted through Crime Stoppers.
