Relief could be on the way at Nova Scotia gas pumps

By Mark Hodgins

HALIFAX – There could be some relief coming to gas pumps across Nova Scotia on Friday morning.

News 95.7 predicts when regulated prices are adjusted at midnight that prices will fall by about 3 cents per litre.

George Murphy of Consumers for Fair Gas Prices said there's not much happening on the markets right now.

“We're in a bit of a hiatus here when it comes to any increases in oil prices, at least until we hear exactly what OPEC is going to do,” Murphy said, referring to potential production drops.

“Even then if they do do that, the numbers we're seeing are showing there's not going to be a rapid increase in the price of oil.”

He adds a strong Canadian Dollar is also keeping prices steady.

Gas prices in New Brunswick fell by 2.9 cents Thursday morning to a new maximum price of $1.17.4/L.
