Garrison Brewing Co. is partnering with Jack 92.9 on a limited edition beer for a good cause.
Fifty cents from every can sold of It's a Wienerful Wheat with Griff and Caroline will go to the Nova Scotia SPCA.
Garrison's Justin Zinck describes it as a crisp and ruff-freshing American-style wheat beer.
"It's unfiltered, it's got a lot of haze and it's perfect for the fall," he told Jack 92.9's Griff and Caroline.
"It's easy drinking, nothing too hoppy. It's an every person beer and you should be able to sit down and enjoy it with all kinds of different foods."
Jack 92.9's Caroline Parker said Zinck wanted to put his dog on a beer label, and the idea evolved from there.
Wienerful Wheat drinkers will see Zinck's two-and-a-half year old miniature wiener dog Sophie on the can.
Zinck said Garrison employees are big dog lovers, so raising money for the SPCA was a no-brainer.
"We allow dogs in our brewery. We're a pretty dog-centred brewery so it was a natural fit."
The SPCA is a charity that is also near and dear to both Parker and her radio co-host Griff Henderson.
Each has fostered animals for the organization, ending up with new family members in the process.
And this isn't the first time the radio station has helped the SPCA raise money.
In February, Griff and Caroline entered an enclosure at Mic Mac Mall and vowed to stay until they raised $10,000.
When they quickly surpassed that milestone, they doubled their goal and ended up giving over $20,000 to the animal shelter.
Henderson said bills quickly pile up for the non-profit as they care for injured and abandoned animals.
"An animal could show up on its last legs, literally, and they will restore it back to health and find it a home," he said. "These things cost money, operations, medicine, food of course, rent and electricity."
It's a Wienerful Wheat with Griff and Caroline is a limited run and is now available at Garrison.
