Max Fortier opened up the scoring early in the first period, with Brett Crossley adding to Halifax's lead on a short handed goal shortly after. Liam Stevens eventually put the Sags on the board at the 12:19 mark of the first.

Filip Zadina scored his 34th of the season less than a minute into the middle frame to give Halifax a 3-1 lead.

The Sags bounced back in the third period, with Mathieu Desgagnes scoring unassisted and Stevens netting his second of the evening, forcing overtime.

It only took Kevin Klima 22 seconds to seal the deal for the Sags, topping the Mooseheads 4-3.
