Small increase to prices at the pumps expected this week

By Dan Ahlstrand

A small increase in the price for gasoline expected in Nova Scotia tonight.

That's according to managing director and market economist with Price Street, Rory Johnston. He is expecting to see prices rise only by about one cent.

Johnston says a fall in the value of the Canadian dollar is counterbalancing drops in the price for oil.

“The two major factors right now, crude oil and the Canadian dollar, are moving in the opposite direction,” Johnston said. “So you're insulating any of those moves dramatically.”

Across the the border in New Brunswick regulated prices dropped by 1.5 cents overnight moving the maximum price down to 149.3.
