UPDATE: On March 17, The Old Triangle and The Celtic Corner posted on social media they are closed until further notice.

Four Irish pubs in Halifax are postponing their St. Patrick's Day celebrations in an effort to limit the spread of COVID-19.

In a joint news release issued Sunday, The Old Triangle, Durty Nelly's, The Celtic Corner, and Finbar's Irish Pub announced they would be tentatively moving activities to May 17.

All establishments will continue to operate on their regular business hours while sticking to provincial guidelines of social distancing.

On Sunday, the province announced organizations and businesses are required to practise social distancing of two metres or six feet and keep gatherings below 150 or much smaller if possible.
