Two men charged after Dartmouth man threatened with fake gun

HALIFAX – Halifax Regional Police have charged two men whom allegedly showed up at man's door in Dartmouth Wednesday afternoon and threatened him with a fake gun.

Police were called to an apartment on Roleika Drive around 2:30 p.m.after a man reported two men banging on his door. He said when he looked through the peephole, he saw two men that he knew and one was brandishing what he thought was a gun.

He told police the men were yelling threats and kicking the door repeatedly before they eventually left and returned to another apartment in the same building. Three men and a woman were arrested leaving that apartment.

Police say their search turned up an imitation gun.

Alexander Kenneth Pritchett, 22, of Westphal has been charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, using an imitation firearm in the commission of an offence, uttering threats and breach of probation. He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on Thursday.

Spencer Dilan Pritchett, 21, of Westphal is also charged with uttering threats. He was released and scheduled to appear in court Nov. 28.

The two others arrested at the apartment, a 19-year-old man and 18-year-old woman from Dartmouth, were not charged and have been released from custody.
