Halifax Regional Municipality is asking residents to check the Emera Oval website before heading out for a skate.

HRM says, with warmer temperatures in the forecast as we head into March, more temporary closures for the ice surface are expected.

Wednesday's noon public skate and 4 p.m. speed skate were cancelled due to ice conditions.

The 6:30 p.m. public skate was listed as "tentative" as of 4:20 p.m.
