Wind, rain expected as another weekend storm takes aim at Halifax (UPDATE)

By Mark Hodgins

Environment Canada is firming up details on that storm expected to impact the Halifax area on Saturday.

The national forecaster is calling for a system to bring rain and wind through the day.

In an update Friday morning, the special weather statement said up to 50 mm of rain is possible along the Atlantic coast and winds could gust to 100 km/h starting Saturday afternoon and lasting through the evening.

Environment Canada said rainfall warnings would likely be issued on Friday.

The rain is expected to taper to flurries on Sunday morning.
