Four first period goals help propel the Huskies to a 6-3 win over Mooseheads

ROUYN-NORANDA, QC. – The Rouyn-Noranda Huskies are one game away from taking the President's Cup after topping the Halifax Mooseheads 6-3 Thursday night.

The Huskies got off to a strong start with Peter Abbandonato, Rafael Harvey-Pinard, Jakub Lauko and William Cyr putting Rouyn-Noranda up 4-0.

The Mooseheads came back toward the end of the first period as Arnaud Durandeau and Raphael Lavoie cut the Huskies' lead to two.

Things slowed down in the second period as neither team managed to add to their tallies.

Samuel Asselin closed the gap early in the third on a power play but a pair of empty net goals helped seal the deal for the Huskies.

The Huskies will have a chance to win the cup on Saturday when they head back to Halifax for game six.
