Mooseheads defeat Voltigeurs 5-2, take 3-1 series lead

By CityNews Halifax Staff

HALIFAX – The Halifax Mooseheads are one win away from advancing the QMJHL finals after topping the Drummondville Voltigeurs 5-2 in game four of their semi-final series.

After a scoreless first period, Dawsom Mercer put Drummondville on the board midway through the second on a power play.

That woke the Mooseheads up as Raphael Lavoie, Max Trepanier, Xavier Parent and Antoine Morand scored four consecutive goals to make it 4-1 Halifax heading into the final period.

Samuel Asselin scored an empty netter with Drummondville's Joe Veleno following up shortly after.

But it wasn't enough as the Mooseheads held on to win 5-2.

The Mooseheads have a chance to advance on Friday when they head back to Drummondville.
