HALIFAX – The Halifax Mooseheads picked up a 5-2  home win over the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles Friday night.

The Herd had a strong first period with Raphael Lavoie and Samuel Asselin netting a pair of goals to make it 2-0 after 20 minutes.

Adam McCormick found the back of Alex Gravel's net to cut the Herd's lead in half. Ben Higgins scored later in the second period to make it 3-1 Halifax.

Wilson Forest scored early in the third to close the gap once more. But Walter Flower and Arnaud Durandeau managed to net two more to seal the deal for the Herd.

The Mooseheads get set to welcome the Acadie-Bathurst Titan to the Scotiabank Centre on Saturday.
