Halifax police say victim of early morning stabbing has died of her injuries

Halifax police say they are investigating a homicide after a woman was stabbed earlier in the day.

Police say a 37-year-old woman died in hospital after being stabbed in the area of Sylvia Avenue and Herring Cove Road, in the city’s south end.

Officers arrived to the scene around 12:45 a.m. and found the victim, who was taken to hospital in serious condition.

Investigators believe the attack wasn’t random.

Police say further details will be provided when they become available.

They are asking anyone with information on the stabbing to contact them.
