1946 – 2022

It is with grieving hearts that we announce the death of our sister, Louise who was born on September 28, 1946 and died September 26, 2022.

Louise was a smart, quiet lady, strong-willed and very caring, who taught for 33 years at St. Stephen’s Elementary School in north end Halifax. She was an avid bowler with the Teacher’s League, Strictly for Fun Bowling and Friday night family bowling.

She was predeceased by her parents, Louis Joseph Chiasson and Kathleen (Zong) Chiasson; brothers, Ernie, Louis, Raymond and Joseph and a little sister, Mary.

Louise is survived by sisters, Shirley Chiason, Beatrice Bonin, Linda (Paul) Pottie, Rose (Mike) Rogers; sister-in-law, Madelane Chiasson; brothers, John (Elizabeth), Henry (Brenda), Paul (Sharon), Peter (Charlene) and Albert (Cathi). She was aunt “Weezie” to 9 nephews and 13 nieces, plus 15 great-nephews and 12 great-nieces, with a great-nephew on the way.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, September 29, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Cruikshank’s Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor Street, Halifax. Memorial mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 30, 2022 at 11 a.m. from St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, 6351 North Street, Halifax, with a reception to follow.
