14-year-old facing charges in group assault

Police say one of the youths had what is believed to be a replica firearm

A 14-year-old is facing multiple charges in a group assault earlier this week in Dartmouth.

It happened at around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday on Alderney Drive near Alderney Landing.

Halifax Regional Police were told a group of about 10 youth assaulted another youth they knew and took their property.

It's believed one of the youths had a replica firearm.

Officer arrested a 14-year-old on Wednesday. 

They'll appear in youth court at a later date to face charges of robbery, assault, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace and pointing a firearm.

Police say a video of the incident has been circulating on social media. 

Anyone with information about the incident or the video is asked to call police at 902-490-5020 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
