Bedford man charged with stunting

A Bedford man has been handed a hefty fine after being charged with stunting Friday afternoon.

Halifax Regional Police say an officer captured the vehicle's speed at 155 km/h in a 100 km/h zone of Highway 102 near Hammonds Plains Rd. at around 1:15 p.m.

The fine for stunting is $2,422.50. In addition, the 35-year-old's licence has been suspended for a week and the vehicle he was driving has been impounded.

HRP's traffic unit also wrote 17 tickets for speeding Friday and 11 for other offences, including no insurance, expired plates, driving while suspended and improper passing.
