Five charged after another search of illegal cannabis dispensary in Dartmouth

Four men and one woman are facing charges after a police search of the an illegal cannabis dispensary in Dartmouth.

Halifax Regional Police conducted a search warrant just before noon Tuesday at the Atlantic Compassion Club Society on Main St. 

Police say they seized around 2.5 pounds of cannabis, about 700 other cannabis products and $9,000.

All five have been charged with possession of cannabis for the purpose of distributing, possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling, possession for the use in production or distribution of illicit cannabis and possession of property obtained by crime.

This is the second time this month the Atlantic Compassion Club Society has been searched. On July 10, 13 adults were arrested and charged.

Nine people were charged at the location in late April.

“The only legal way to buy recreational cannabis in N.S. is through NSLC outlets,” says HRP in a news release. “The only legal way for Canadians to access medical cannabis is through Health Canada.”
