By Meghan Groff

Four men are facing charges in relation to three robberies earlier this week,

Halifax Regional Police say the first happened Tuesday, when at around  7:20 p.m., a man with a knife demanded another man's car keys on Lower Water Street. The suspect drove off in the stolen vehicle. A brief police pursuit had to be called off due to public safety concerns.

Then at 2 a.m. Wednesday, two men robbed the Needs convenience store Chebucto Road of money and cigarettes. No weapons were seen and no one was physically hurt.

An hour and a half later, then Needs convenience store on Highway 2 in Fall River was robbed. Police say three men went in, stole cash, cigarettes and an employee's car keys before taking off in the staff member's vehicle. Responding officers found the vehicle stolen on Lower Water Street in the gas station's parking lot.

Soon after, officers tracked down the newly stolen vehicle on Waverley Road. A brief police pursuit was again called off due to public safety concerns, but police caught up with it as it was crossing the Macdonald Bridge.

HRP say the driver again refused to stop, made his way to Wood Avenue and crashed into a home. Four men got out and ran off, but didn't get far before being arrested.
