Halifax Regional Police have charged a man with voyeurism after an incident earlier this week.

Just before 10:30 p.m. Monday, police were told a man dressed in jogging gear appeared to be stretching as he stared into the window of a home on Lawrence Street.

Witnesses told police he had been on the sidewalk for quite a while, and it wasn't the first time he was spotted doing that.

Andre Joseph Benard, 54, of Halifax, was arrested on Wednesday night.

He's also facing a criminal harassment charge.

Police are encouraging Haligonians to report suspicious activity in their neighborhood.
