Halifax Police looking for man who assaulted female; pulled her to an isolated area

The victim was not injured, but HRP are asking for the public's help in locating the suspect.

Halifax Regional Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect who assaulted a female in the North End early Sunday morning.

Officers received a call at 2:14 a.m. that an assault had occurred near Agricola and North Street.

According to police, a female was walking home in the area and was assaulted by a male not known to her.

The suspect attempted to pull the female into an isolated area, but a passerby saw the incident and intervened.

HRP say the suspect then ran and is described as a white male with a medium build wearing dark clothes and glasses, and may have a face tattoo.

Investigators are asking anyone who has information on this incident to call police at 902-490-5020. Anonymous tips can be sent to Crime Stoppers by calling toll-free 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submitting a secure web tip at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca
