Halifax Regional Police issued 61 tickets for speeding and other motor vehicle-related offences throughout the region yesterday.

The HRP Traffic Unit was monitoring traffic on many of our roadways yesterday. Over a period of a couple of hours, the officers issued 61 summary offence tickets: 16 for speeding; 44 for other offences including no insurance, expired plates, using a cell phone, and invalid safety inspections; and one for stunting.

The stunting incident, involving a driver travelling 104 km/h in a 50 km/h zone on Dunbrack Street in Halifax, was released yesterday

In a continued effort to address traffic safety issues and educate citizens on the rules of the road, our officers focus on speed enforcement. We all have a role to play in keeping our roads safe.
