HRP have charged two people with fraud offences

Halifax Regional Police have charged two individuals following three reported incidents of identity fraud in Halifax Regional Municipality. 

On Aug. 25, 2022, at around 3:30 p.m., police responded to reports of fraud in progress at the TD Bank at 1475 Bedford Highway. 

Police say a man and woman possessed fraudulent identification and documents and attempted to gain access to someone’s personal bank account. 

Officers learned the same suspects tried to access another two bank accounts earlier in that day using fraudulent identification and documents.

The two accounts belonged to individuals at other TD Bank locations in Halifax and Dartmouth. 

Police say the suspects could not access the accounts and were arrested at the scene on the TD Bank on Bedford Highway without incident. 

Hashim Hussein, 29, appeared in Halifax Provincial Court on Aug. 26 to face charges of:

  • Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence (x 3)
  • Fraud under $5,000
  • Identity fraud to avoid arrest
  • Make or possesses identity documents
  • Obstruct police

Nadina Campitelli, 47, appeared in Halifax Provincial Court on Aug. 26 to face charges of:

  • Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence (x 3)
  • Fraud under $5,000 (x 3)
  • Identity fraud to gain advantage (x 3)
  • Identity theft (x 3)
  • Make or possesses identity documents (x 3)
