Interrupter clause drops price of diesel (update)

UPDATE: The price of diesel has dropped Saturday morning.

At midnight, the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board used the interrupter clause lower the cost of the fuel 12 cents to 204.1.

The price of diesel will change at midnight Friday into Saturday.

The Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board will be invoking the interrupter clause.

The price of gasoline will not change.

“This change is necessary due to significant shifts in the market price of diesel oil,” the UARB said in a news release.

The board did not indicate if the new price would be higher or lower.

Nova Scotians woke up Friday morning to higher diesel prices.

In the regular weekly adjustment, the fuel jumped up 4.8 cents to 216.1.

Gas prices went down 5.7 cents to 153.9.
