Man arrested after drug store robbery

A drug store employee was threatened during a robbery Friday night.

Halifax Regional Police say it happened at around 11:30 p.m. at the Shoppers Drug Mart on Joseph Howe Drive.

They say the employee spotted a man putting fragrance bottles in a bag.

“An employee approached the suspect who then threatened to harm him with a knife if he came closer,” said HRP in a news release.

The suspect was seen running off near Westerwald Street.

When officers arrived, they spotted a vehicle in the area, and when they approached, a suspect ran off.

He was soon arrested with the help of a K9 unit and has been charged with robbery.

Police say a second suspect also ran from the vehicle and has not yet been found.

Anyone with information is asked to call 902-490-5020 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
