Man arrested after impaired driving incident

Halifax Regional Police have arrested a 59 year old man after he struck a woman in a parking lot.

Officers received a call at 2:16 a.m. Sunday morning, from a liquor establishment, saying a woman had been hit by a parked car, after a dark colored SUV pushed the vehicle into the pedestrian.

EHS treated the 35 year old woman for non life threatening injuries.

At 2:55 a.m., police located the suspect vehicle behind an apartment building on Kencrest Avenue, and arrested a 59 year old man shortly after.

The man will be charged with impaired driving causing bodily harm, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of an accident.
