Man attacked in Halifax hotel with knife and bear spray

Halifax Police say a man was attacked near West Street early this morning in Halifax by an unknown male with a knife and bear spray.

The 38-year-old victim was inside the Common Inn, located near the Halifax Common, when he was attacked. He flagged down a passing police vehicle for assistance.

While the victim was talking to police, the suspect was observed exiting the building and police arrested a 22-year-old male.

Officers followed the smell of the bear spray and located an 18-year-old male and female inside a room in the building.

The victim sustained minor injuries.

The suspect will be facing charges of robbery and weapons-related offences.
