Man breaks into Lower Sackville home and starts fire

RCMP are investigating after an unknown man broke into a home, assaulted a resident and started a fire in Lower Sackville early Saturday morning.

Mounties were called to Sackville Dr. at 5:10 a.m. on Feb. 27.

There was only one resident in the home at the time. They were able to get outside before police arrived and were taken to hospital by ambulance for non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as white, around 5'7" and he was wearing a dark jacket and a hat.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Halifax District RCMP at 902-490-5020 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers
