Man carrying walking stick suspect in attempted robbery

UPDATE: Police release photo of suspect in robbery near NSCC campus

Halifax Regional Police are investigating a robbery that happened yesterday morning in Dartmouth. 

HRP say around 10 a.m., on Sept. 1, 2022, police were called to a robbery in progress at the parking lot near 80 Mawiomi Place. 

HRP say a man with a walking stick approached a woman while exiting her vehicle and threatened her while demanding her keys. 

The suspect fled the area empty-handed, and the woman was not injured, police say. 

The suspect is described as a man in his 40s to 50s, around 5’7”, with a slim build, salt and pepper hair and beard. 

At the time, he wore a khaki-coloured hat, a dark long-sleeved shirt, blue sunglasses and a face mask.
