Man charged after three robbed at knifepoint

A suspect has been arrested after three men were robbed at knifepoint early Sunday morning.

Halifax Regional Police say the three were walking along Spring Garden Road near Queen at around 2:40 a.m. when a man with a knife demanded money.

One of the victims was assaulted during the incident.

Officers arrested a suspect in the area and say they seized a knife.

Cyril Bradley Mercury, 38, is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face charges of:

  • Robbery (three counts)
  • Assault with a weapon (three counts)
  • Uttering threats (three counts)
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Failure to comply with the condition of a release order
  • Failure to comply with an undertaking
