Man facing 56 charges in relation to multiple thefts and robberies

Halifax Regional Police allege one man is responsible for 15 thefts and robberies throughout the Halifax area in the last four months.

The suspect has been charged with 56 offences.

Police were called to Rockhead Wine, Beer and Spirits in the plaza at Windsor and North at around noon on Thanksgiving Monday.

They say a man stole alcohol from the store before leaving on foot. A suspect was soon arrested on Brunswick Street.

Christopher Joseph Young, 30, will appear in court at a later date to face the following charges:

  • Three counts of robbery 
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Assault
  • Twelve counts of theft under $5,000 
  • Twelve counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 
  • Twenty-seven counts of breach of probation
